Pepney Gallery is thrilled to welcome Irfzan Ajvazi, a visionary visual artist whose work transcends boundaries, inviting viewers into a space where the essence of existence is distilled into minimalist yet intimate moments. "Aspects of Existence" is a reflection on presence itself, unraveling the subtle yet profound narratives embedded in each quiet gesture, fleeting moment, and delicate detail.

Ajvazi, a multi-faceted artist based in Europe, is known for his exploration of painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and new media. With a background in graphic design, drawing, painting, and sculpture from the Logo Design Institute in Switzerland (2019), his work speaks to the intersection of multiple mediums, allowing each piece to carry an authenticity that is both personal and universal.

The exhibition, live from September 20, 2025, to early 2026, invites us into Ajvazi's world—one where each piece, whether a photograph, sculpture, or painting, asks us to pause and reflect on the silent spaces that often go unnoticed in the rush of daily life. His compositions, minimal in their form but rich in their emotional resonance, bring to the surface something ineffable—the presence of being.

Ajvazi's artistic practice is grounded in the concept of "presence" and the complexities of capturing the essence of life through visual art. With an eye for capturing the small yet significant moments that define our lives, his work invites us to consider the act of being in its most fragile, ephemeral state. His intimate approach to subjects—whether human figures, still lifes, or abstracted forms—speaks to the tension between the temporal and the eternal.

Ajvazi’s photographic works capture life in its purest form, often juxtaposing fragments of reality with personal interpretation. His approach is reminiscent of traditional sketches, a spontaneous and intimate process where he finds the beauty in the seemingly mundane. Through this lens, Ajvazi draws on various influences, from film and media to historical art movements, particularly the works of Baudelaire, whose exploration of beauty as a fleeting yet eternal concept has shaped Ajvazi’s understanding of the role of art in capturing the intangible.

Irfzan Ajvazi's artworks have been featured in prominent international collections, including the Fundacion Maceta, PiecePiece, and Apricus Art Collection, and his pieces have graced the walls of galleries around the world, including VB Contemporary, Dodomu Gallery, and Sfumato Art Gallery. His profound understanding of the intricate subtleties of life is evident in every piece, crafting tender, intimate scenes that evoke reflection and contemplation.

This exhibition is not just a display of art—it’s an invitation to pause, to reflect, and to experience the unspoken narratives of life through the eyes of one of Europe's most exciting contemporary artists.

Artist Statement
“My work often starts with something simple—a motif or figure that catches my eye. Photography helps me capture these fleeting moments, which I later transform into a larger composition. I’m interested in the interplay between the captured moment and the emotional undercurrents it evokes, influenced by art history, film, and media. I’m drawn to Baudelaire’s exploration of the painter of modern life, which speaks to the timeless nature of beauty, and the challenge of defining it in a world constantly changing. I aim to capture that essence—the hidden layers of existence that are often overlooked.”
